My name is Riley Snelson, and I have a goal. My goal is to make it into the amazing school of Julliard when my time comes and finish what my musical career has started for me. I wish to be the new and female version of Kenny G and Gerald Albright. And right now, forever, and always, shall I play my part in what life has ahead of me. With the right attitude and wit, I will pull through and I will one day be the one that younger girls and boys will look up to.

What do I have to do for my dream to become a reality? Fight for what is rightfully yours! Use your mistakes as fuel and your problems as adrenaline to complete the simple task of taking a step closer to your dream. Enjoy the little things and big things, don't be afraid to be adventurous and daunting.

Just know that everything you do, leads to your future. All the good things and the bad things collaborate when you walk on that stage, when you feel the ground of the moon, when you reach your all-time high. Goals are what keep us alive, folks. Goals are what help you get through your day. Goals are what help you achieve your dreams.

Goals are what make you who you are. It might not be today, or tomorrow Since this has been written, it's gotten quite an amount of attention. I'm glad for that, but I must say as my 16 year old self now, I have changed my goals. And that's okay, everyone does.

Goals change with any curve ball thrown at you. I now wish to attend Northern Arizona University to become a band director. Don't let curve balls persuade you or allow you to think any different of the goals you want to achieve. Your goal must be attainable, so if you did loose weight not putting it back on. There is no point of setting goals if they are not realistic, if you know you cant achieve it then you are not going to try and do it. Your emotions can reflect on goals.

As long as we consider all these points with hard work and determination we should all be able to achieve our goals. I have just started my studies and have set a few goals so I will be successful. My first goal is to pass both of my units. I set weekly goals, listening to all my lectures and doing the tasks. Time management is very important when studying, I still will be working 40 hours a week and trying to do 2 units so the workload is very high.

I have found a routine that works well for me, I plan the week before when I will be studying and make sure I do listen to all my lectures and do my reading in that time. If I split all units up over 4 years and focus on passing each one each semester, it is a lot less daunting than saying I have to pass 16 units.

Is setting goals a way to motivate a person, or a way to make them feel worthless if the goals are not met? One problem with life goals is that when unrealistic ones are set, it can lead to self-esteem issues, depression and a feeling of failure.

In order to overcome this it is important that realistic and obtainable goals are set. While it is good to dream big, it is necessary to realistically consider exactly how possible the goal will be.

For example, saving up for a once in a life time holiday or to go traveling is much more realistic than purchasing a million dollar mansion in Beverly Hills. There is a difference between goals and pipe dreams, something that many of us forget.

A life spent chasing pipe dreams and not focusing on what is actually possible could lead to a lifetime of feeling disappointed and unfulfilled. Life goals should be something that could be on the cards for you when you work hard and study hard. It has to be said that life goals do give you clarity on your end vision and where you see yourself in the future.

This basically means that you are busy doing but not working towards anything and building the future the way that you see it and want it.
